Super Rugby Americas Future – Special Player Draft

South American rugby players are in search of professional opportunities. This has seen the creation of Super Rugby Americas Future. The new institution is to be a special player draft held in Montevideo, Uruguay from November 22-25.

Super Rugby Americas Future will involve four teams with young players from the Southern Cone. Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and a combined Chile / Brazil will play in the series of friendlies at the Estadio Charrúa.

The teams will take to the field playing as Paraguay Talents, Argentina Talents U20, Uruguay Talents U23 and the combined Chile / Brazil.

Chilean Head Coach Pablo Lemoine commented:

“It is an idea that came from Sudamérica Rugby and it enables a platform for young players with projection who can play in Super Rugby Americas or in different representative teams among those involved. I think it is a great opportunity.”

The combined Chile / Brazil will consist of 18 Chilean and 10 Brazilian players. Lemoine will take charge of the team as the Head Coach in Montevideo. The team will face Paraguay Talents on November 22 while Argentina Talents will face Uruguay Talents. The winners will face each other on November 25 as will the two losing teams.
