Raptors Depart Ways with Head Coach David Butcher

A coaching change has come at the American Raptors. The Colorado team is no longer under the command of David Butcher. He coached the team in the three matches thus far in Super Rugby Americas 2024. The team was winless losing 56-08 against Los Dogos, 52-17 against Los Pampas and 37-07 against PeƱarol.

The fall of Butcher follows the departure of Marcelo Loffreda and Ignacio Fernandez Lobbe shortly before the start of the season. The Raptors are now to have three coaches in two months. Butcher’s replacement is Mose Timoteo. He joins after previously serving as the backs and attack coach from 2021-2023.

During his playing days, Timoteo made 100 appearances for the USA Eagles 7’s and competed in the 2001 and 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens in 28 different tournaments. He scored 14 tries. He was also capped by the Eagles at the Senior Men’s level and played at Rugby World Cup 2003 in Australia.
