Unbeaten Argentina Advance to Final Four in Hong Kong

Los Pumas booked their spot in the Semi Finals of the 2025 Hong Kong 7’s. The unbeaten Argentina won their pool by following up their Day One wins over the USA and Ireland by defeating Fiji in pool play on Day Two and then Ireland in the Quarter Finals. The outcome is a Semi Final for Argentina against Australia on Sunday. Fiji face France in the second Semi Final. The final will take place at 7:46am Argentine time.

Los Pumas 7’s were strong against Fiji. Two tries to Matteo Graziano and one to Luciano González saw the Argentines leading 21-0 at halftime. The second half saw changes with Santiago Mare and Santino Zangara touching down in the try zone. Argentina won 35-7 against the global traditional giants of Rugby Sevens.

The Quarter Final against Ireland saw Argentina in control throughout. Los Pumas 7’s scored the opening three tries of the contest. Marcos Moneta used his pace while Luciano González Rizzoni used his power. The third came in the second half; however, with none of them converted Argentina was 15-0 up.

Ireland scored twice in the second half through Hugo Lennox and Josh Kenny. The tries were matches by Argentina’s second half tries. Matías Osadczuk scored before Lennon and Agustín Fraga scored in-between Lennon and Kenny.
