Chile Unveil 2025 Rugby Jerseys, Coaching Staff and New Captain

Key announcements have come from Chile ahead of the 2025 July Internationals. Chile has unveiled their rugby jerseys for 2025 as well as naming staff and a new captain. Los Cóndores have a pivotal few months ahead of them; the Chileans are looking to prepare for Rugby World Cup 2027 qualifiers and secure their place in Australia 2027.

CHILE UNVEIL 2025 RUGBY JERSEYS

Chile’s rugby jerseys for 2025 come in two varieties. Los Cóndores have red as their regular home strip and blue as their alternative. This has tended to be the norm; however, Chile had a white strip as their alternative at Rugby World Cup 2023.

NEW CAPTAIN UNVEILED

Chile will be led by Clemente Saavedra Cartajena in 2025. Saavedra is a senior member of the roster and has led his country previously. He was injured playing for Chile against Scotland ‘A’ last November. This saw him sidelined for a significant period of Super Rugby Americas 2025.

Saavedra returned to play under captain Martín Sigren before taking-over as captain. He now makes the step up to lead his country this year. It comes with his twin brother, Domingo Saavedra having also suffered injury. Domingo Saavedra is out for the season but will have a role on the training staff.

CAPTAIN SIDELINED

Los Cóndores have lost their regular captain for the year. Martín Sigren was injured playing Super Rugby Americas for Selknam. He captained the side and also led Los Cóndores at their inaugural Rugby World Cup in France in 2023. He has 38 caps.
