History will be made in the November 2025 Internationals as Italy face Chile for the first time ever. The match was not scheduled to occur but comes as a late change due to Samoa’s inability to qualify for Rugby World Cup 2027 via the Pacific Nations Cup or the Pacific vs South America play-off.
Chile’s win over Samoa sent Samoa into repechage. Samoa join Belgium, Namibia and the winner of Brazil vs Paraguay in the repechage tournament. The repechage final will be played just four days before the previously scheduled Italy vs Samoa fixture, as such that has been called-off with Italy playing Chile instead.
Italy vs Chile will take-place on November 22 in Genoa. The fixture will be played at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. The same venue played host to Italy vs Georgia in November 2024. Argentina has previously played two test matches at the venue. Los Pumas won 20-18 in 2014 and 39-22 in 2005.
The fixture is presently the only game confirmed for Chile as part of the November 2025 Internationals. It is also Chile’s only match in 2025 against a Tier 1 opponent. It follows the home fixture against Scotland in July 2024.
Italy open their November test matches against Australia in Udine on November 08. Game two will be against South Africa in Torino. The match against Los Cóndores will be Italy’s final match of the year.
All teams are competing for World Rugby Rankings points. Seedings will be used for the draw for Rugby World Cup 2027 in December.
