Three cities have been confirmed to host the second division tournament of World Rugby’s Sevens series. Organized as SVNS 2, the tournament has confirmed Nairobi, Montevideo, and São Paulo, Brazil as host cites. As such South America will host two of the three tournaments.
The confirmation follows that of New York (actually New Jersey) being the new USA leg of the SVNS Series. The move to the East Coast comes with Los Angeles no longer hosting. It means the two North American stages will be on opposite sides of the continent as Vancouver, Canada continues to host on the West Coast.
The six host SVNS cities will be Dubai, Cape Town, Singapore, Perth, Vancouver and New York. While the SVNS 2 will be the aforementioned cities in Kenya, Uruguay and Brazil.
The Nairobi SVNS 2 tournament will take place on February 14-15, 2026. Both South American tournaments will be in March with Montevideo hosting on March 21-22 and São Paulo on March 28-29.
Four women’s and four men’s teams have been confirmed for the SVNS 2 series. Two further sides will qualify via the SVNS 3. Thus far, Kenya, USA, Germany, Uruguay have been confirmed for men’s and China, Kenya, Spain, and Brazil have been confirmed for women’s.
The SVNS 3 will be played in Dubai on January 17-18, 2026. The SVNS 3 women’s participants will be Argentina, Colombia, Czechia, Mexico, Poland, Samoa, South Africa, and Thailand while Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Hong Kong, Italy, Madagascar, Samoa, and Tonga will be the men’s competitors.
