Brazil’s Women’s team, As Yaras, were due to face Spain on Saturday at 8am (Brasilia time). The match was a WXV Global Challenger fixture in Hong Kong. However, it was canceled due to climate conditions.
With there being no time slot to move the match it was called-off. World Rugby decided to cancel the match which saw the WXV day missing out on one fixture. The other matches were played as normal with Fiji securing the title with a 20-17 win over the Netherlands.
The cancelation of Brazil vs Spain means that 2026 is over for Brazil’s Women’s team. The players will now return to their clubs and be able to compete in the remaining rounds of the Copa do Brasil.
