Where Australia will play 2027 matches including vs Argentina and Chile

The Wallabies are set for a busy 2027. The team that will have home advantage at Rugby World Cup 2027 has eight matches confirmed prior to opening the tournament against Hong Kong in Perth on Friday, October 01.

The battle of Perth will be Australia’s one match in Western Australia in 2027. It will be followed by additional pool matches in Sydney against New Zealand and Brisbane against Chile. Los Cóndores are thus the final opponent that the Wallabies will face during the pool stage of Rugby World Cup 2027. It will also be the first ever match between Australia and Chile.

The road to Rugby World Cup 2027 will begin early for the Wallabies. Innovation sees the creation of the inaugural ANZAC Day Bledisloe Cup. The match will see Australia having home advantage against New Zealand in Brisbane in a new marquee event in April.

International competition will then pause before resuming for the 2027 Rugby Championship. Australia will play host to Argentina in Sydney and Townsville in two test matches in July. The match is Townsville is the first of two Wallabies vs Pumas fixture confirmed for the city in upcoming years.

The 2027 Rugby Championship is a standard edition of the tournament. It has been organized as such despite being a Rugby World Cup year. This comes following the cancelation of the 2026 tournament with New Zealand and South Africa pulling-out to play their own series instead.

Argentina’s matches against the Wallabies in July 2027 will be in the opening two rounds of the Rugby Championship. Australia will then face South Africa twice on the road and Argentina will play host to New Zealand in two matches. The two final rounds will see home-and-away matches for Los Pumas against South Africa.

There is room for additional matches between the Rugby Championship and the Rugby World Cup. Australia will face Ireland in Canberra on September 18. It is the only home match for Australia at a venue that will not feature at Rugby World Cup 2027.

Argentina is one of three South American countries that will compete at Rugby World Cup 2027. The others are Chile and Uruguay. Canada and the USA will also compete to give the Americas five competitors at a Rugby World Cup for the first time.

Chile is to take-on Canada and the USA in 2027 in Rugby World Cup warm-up matches. Whether a match against Argentina will be added remains unconfirmed. The same applies to a possible Chile vs Uruguay match and also a match between Argentina and Uruguay.
