Pau continue to recruit strongly. The French Top 14 club have signed Facundo Isa from Toulon. The Argentine veteran of Rugby World Cups 2015 and 2023 will join Pau next season. The move is the second big name Puma acquired by Pau; Julián Montoya has signed from Leicester Tigers.
The 31-year-old is took off 2024 from international duty. He did bot play for Los Pumas by choice, stating a need for rest after the heavy demand of 2023 for Toulon and Argentina. The rest did him wonders as he has been on top form for Toulon during the 2024-2025 season.
Isa has made eleven appearances for Toulon thus far this season. All eleven have been starting in the back-row. He has scored tries in four of the matches.
Toulon was where Isa began his professional rugby career. He arrived in the 2013-2014 season before returning in 2017. His second stint at the club has been long as he has been playing for Toulon since 2017. Be also played for Lyon, as a medical joker, before debuting for Toulon in 2017 and was a Jaguar in Super Rugby from 2016-2017.
His professional career statistics include 13 appearances for Jaguares, 145 for Toulon and 7 for Lyon. He has 51 caps for Argentina, earned during a decade. His made his test debut for Los Pumas against Scotland in 2014.
