Chile host Romania in July 2025

Chile will prepare for the Rugby World Cup 2027 Qualifiers with a home match against Romania. Los Cóndores will face the Australia 2027 qualified Eastern Europeans on Saturday, July 05. The match will be Romania’s first stop in a three-match tour of South America.

The Stejarii were supposed to play host to Ireland in July. However, the rare home test match against a 6 Nations opponent has been cancelled. The Romanians will instead play two test matches away. The Stejarii face Chile at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago on July 05 and sub sequently face Uruguay at the Estadio Charrua in Montevideo on Saturday July 12.

Romania’s third match will be a non-capped fixture away against the Argentina XV. The match will take place at CASI in Buenos Aires on Friday, July 18.

The tour will begin Romania’s on-field preparations for Rugby World Cup 2027. The Stejarii qualified for Australia 2027 earlier this year. South American qualifiers will resume in July with Uruguay facing Paraguay and Chile facing Brazil.

Chile’s home match against Romania will be the third ever test match between Chile and Romania. The most recent clash took place at the beautiful Stadionul National Arcul de Triumf in November 2022. The Stejarii were 30-23 winners over Los Cóndores. The first match was a 27-11 victory for Romania at Valparaíso, Chile in 2019.
