Bayonne Sign two Pumitas

More Argentines ha ve been recruited by Top 14 clubs. Two players were recently confirmed as joining Top 14 clubs from Los Pumitas and now two more are joining them. Bayonne have recruited second-rowers Álvaro García Iandolino and Alejandro Barrios.

García Iandolino and Barrios follow Gael Galván and Tomás Rapetti to France. Galván is joining La Rochelle for the new season and Rapetti is on his way to Toulouse. The four players join France’s elite from Argentina u20’s.

Galván comes from Pucará in Buenos Aires. He featured for Argentina in the wins over Wales and Spain at the ongoing World Rugby u20 Championship in Italy. Galván will join leading Pumas tight head prop Joel Sclavi at La Rochelle.

Rapetti comes from Alumni in Buenos Aires. He moves to join three Argentines at Europe’s most successful clubs in history. He will join second-rower Efraín Elías, center Santiago Chocobares and fullback Juan Cruz Mallía at Toulouse.

Álvaro García Iandolino comes from Olivos in Buenos Aires and Alejandro Barrios is from Los Tordos in Mendoza. Bayonne will be the first foreign club for both players, as is the case regarding Galván and Rapetti at La Rochelle and Toulouse respectively.

Barrios and García Iandolino join a Bayonne club featuring a healthy Argentine contingent. Hooker Facundo Bosch, N8 Rodrigo Bruni, loose head prop Ignacio Calles, second-rower Lucas Paulos and winger Mateo Carreras will also be on the Bayonne roster next season.
