Canada Allocated Satisfactory Match Schedule for RWC 2027

Canada has been allocated a satisfactory match schedule for Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia. The North Americans will compete against Argentina, Fiji and Spain in the pool. It marks a return to the Men’s Rugby World Cup after Canada failed to qualify for Rugby World Cup 2023 which was hosted by France.

Rugby World Cup 2027 will be a repeat of the 2003 tournament in that it was also hosted by Australia. When compared the 2003 tournament, the 2007 one will feature four additional teams. Expansion from 20 to 24 teams comes front-and-center with Australia hosting the tournament against Hong Kong.

Canada’s first match will be against heavy-weight sea contenders, Argentina. The fixture will take-place in Brisbane on Monday, October 04. It will officially be the first-ever time that Canada and Argentina have crossed paths at a Rugby World Cup.

The Canadians will travel south from Brisbane to Adelaide for their second match. The travel distance, location and turn-around is a case in point as to Canada having been allocated a satisfactory match perfect. Canada will have six days in between game’e one and two and also between two and three.

The match at the Adelaide Oval will be against familiar Men’s Rugby World Cup opponents, Fiji. Indeed, Canada faced Fiji previously at Rugby World Cups 1991, 1999 and 2007.

Canada’s third pool match will be against their lowest ranked opponent, Spain. It will feature further notable travel as the Canadians fly back to the state of Queensland but this time to face Los Leones in Townsville. It will be played on Saturday, October 16.
